11/15 Update : First Rough Cut

11/15 Update: First Rough Cut     Since this is my final semester as a Senior, my animation is going to be displayed at the Carolyn Wilson Gallery for two weeks starting this upcoming Friday for the Senior Thesis Exhibition. I talked with Mr.McFreeman about how to present what I currently have. I am going to change the intro / Outro titles, fix some audio levels and add the bgs for Friday, but this is my most current export. I also plan to do some touch ups on the project until the 29th. Sadly the file is too big for here so I’m submitting a yt upload of it:  https://youtu.be/B6pJI7qRYhE

11/08 Update

11/08 Animation Update     Here is the newest update on my animation. Most of the animation is done, mainly working on cleaning up the ending.  The main issue that I’m trying to tackle is getting the ending conveyed properly. The intended ending to this is that the anthro bird, after trying and failing to feed the baby bird the way he would eat it, ends up chewing it up like a mother bird would. Some of the people who saw it though just assumed he ended up eating it up after the rejection. The last bit of rough animation is a quick sketch of the head turning up, about to spit it out. I’m not sure if I want to show the actual action, so it is something that I’ll have to work on this week.

11/1 Update : Completed Rough Animation

11/1 Update : Completed Rough Animation     This is the current rough animation for my project, this week I will begin doing clean up. I have taken into account the composition and posture feedback from last week, I will apply that during clean up and fix them to make the scene read more clearly, thank you.

10/25 Update

10/25 Update:     For this week, I am submitting my current animation roughs that I have completed, I currently have three shots left to rough out, I will begin cleaning up the animation this upcoming week. Due to time, the backgrounds will take a more simple approach/color palette. I also plan to due simple coloring for the animation, the anthro bird will have some color and detail to make the beak more distinguishable.

10/16 Update : Thesis Proposal Rewrite

Image
Thesis Proposal Rewrite:     Listening to the most recent feedback, I have created a new proposal to work on for the rest of the semester. This new animatic centers around the bird character that was seen in the original proposal, as well as having no dialogue and relying on the body language of the characters. Instead of the dragon I'm using a small baby bird. This animatic is an interaction between an  anthropomorphic and an actual bird, who wants some of the humanized bird's apple. I thought it would be a cute interaction to show how the two would eat the apple slice (ie. Baby bird wants it chewed up, the anthro bird eats it like a person would). This is half the length of the original proposal, so I hope this is a more sound and concrete concept. Animatic in question: Character Sheet of the Anthropomorphic Bird: The Baby bird will have a proper character sheet for the 10/18 update.

10/4 Update

10/4/22 Update: Here is the current rough draft of my animation:      Last semester, I had storyboarded a conceptual teaser for a short film I originally wanted to do. I currently have around 44 seconds of the animation roughed out, I am going to spend this week cleaning up the animation I have now and see how I can either shorten or rearrange it. It's been a bit difficult, as most of the bgs and other assets were completed during the summer, so hopefully I'll be able to smooth it out.
